Lithostratos Street, which is a pedestrian street, has shops and cafes lining either side. The shops remain open six days in a week. Afternoon breaks are taken from 2 pm to 5pm. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays shops close shutters at 3 pm. However, shops meant for catering to tourists' requirements are every day of the week, and are open to much later in the night too.

Greek meze (small dips and fish) and other typical Greek dishes can be sampled here.

Argostoli is an economic hub and an important centre for politics and cultural activities in Kefalonia. 14,000 residents stay in this bustling town.
