At this feast day Saint Gerasimos memory is celebrated with great pomp and ceremony. His body which is still uncorrupted, is carried in procession from the large church to the well reputedly dug by him under a huge plane tree. It is an event celebrated by thousands of Kefalonians and foreign visitors.
