Titika & Yanna Faraklou
Originally built by three brothers with a vision some 25 years ago, Hotel Summery is now fully renovated and run by the two daughters of one of the brothers, Titika and Yanna. For the two lady-owners, their involvement with the hotel represents the continuity of their family history.
Titika is the polyglot of the family, with a knowledge of seven languages, a degree in Hotel Management and a BA. in Graphic Art and Advertisement. She has committed herself to this business since her school days and has dedicated many years to the hotel's prosperity.
Yanna has an MA and a PhD in linguistics and in the off season months is busy with teaching and translating. She has travelled extensively to both Europe and USA, but Kefalonia, her family and the hotel are always in her heart.
The responsible development of Kefalonia.
The owners of Hotel Summery take an active role in supporting the community, by sponsoring local events such as the annual carnival festivities, parades and various cultural events such as concerts, theatrical plays, and ballets organised by the city. They are also active supporters of The Philharmonic School of Paliki, founded in 1836 and frequently provide accommodation for visiting artist and crew members.
Hotel Summery also cares about its local environment and has taken extensive measurements to make their hotel as eco-friendly as possible. Some of these efforts include double glazed windows, energy conservation system in every room, recycle bins and recycled water for irrigation.
During off-season, the hotel also works together with a local animal-loving society to find homes for stray animals.
