The main area of focus is the responsible development of Kefalonia.
Dive into history within this unique sanctuary of a classical past, where you can partake in traditional pastimes such as dancing, singing, reading, cooking and talking amongst friends. The building itself dates back to 1895, and was once was a haven to Kefalonia's most famous satirical poet, George Molfeta. Mrs. Katerina, the owner, is dedicated to serving and providing her guests with great hospitality and high quality food and accommodation in this historic hotel.
In her effort to keep classical local architecture alive, Mrs. Katerina bought George Molfeta's house, which was on the verge of collapse, and converted it into a guesthouse, making sure to preserve the character of the original structure. This was despite the high cost as it was required to be made earthquake-proof: no mean feat to accomplish for such an old building.
She found carpenters from Greece with expertise in making furniture in the style of the late 1800s. She has, in addition, collected pieces from other old houses, including objects such as old cutlery which are impossible to find these days. All these objects are now part of the hotel and help recreate the authentic feel of the old house.
